Our client specialise in supporting public sector organisations in translating government policy into practical information technology strategies and programmes to improve existing government services, harness the power of modern technology to provide joined-up e-government, and to manage the acquisition and delivery of large scale complex programmes.

Ideally candidates will have a consistent record of achievement, have an excellent academic record (2.1 or above, probably also with a post graduate qualification) and will have worked on at least five major IS/business change programmes within central government or defence.

You should be able to demonstrate the practical application of IS/technical skills in two or more of the following areas:

Policy and strategy definition;

Conducting concept and feasibility studies;

Requirements capture, analysis and specification;

Business case preparation;

Information security;

Knowledge management;

Providing technical assurance and project management support;

Procurement and delivery of large IS/IT programmes in the public sector;

OGC and other public sector best practice.

Ideally you will have applied these skills while working for a major consultancy or systems integrator with government and defence clients. In addition, a demonstrable capability for business development, or certification in MSP, PRINCE2, Business Analysis or similar would be beneficial.
